How does Sonic Solutions differ from other companies in the ultrasonic anilox roll cleaning industry? The unique features of the Sonic Solutions cleaning systems are: convenient table-top design (allows you to place the system where it is convenient for the user), on top cleaning design (first in the industry to adopt this for ease and safety), simplicity of design and process (just set it and forget it - in most instances, no gear or bearing removal is necessary), built with long lasting quality parts and components, preset settings for ultrasonics and heating element (avoids miscalculations on part of the operator), provides the greatest value of all companies in the industry (price is approx. 40% below that of the nearest competitor). Others in the ultrasonic industry may in turn provide/ require the following: stand alone system (may require plumbing and drainage adaptions), anilox rolls to be submersed in the cleaning solution (can't tell when or if the roll is clean, operator must stick their hands into the strong cleaning solution), complicated design and options (may need to set the level of ultrasonics and heat - can damage the rolls if set incorrectly) and systems that are approximately 40 % more expensive. How often should I clean my rolls? Cleaning programs will vary from printer to printer. Some facilities will clean their rolls on a monthly basis. Some who are very conscious of a high level of print quality will clean their rolls before each label run. It seems most common for companies to clean their rolls every week or two. The most important thing to keep in mind is that when the quality of the labels is sacrificed, then its already too late and the rolls should have been cleaned already. Try to figure out the happy medium and shoot for that frequency target. What type of routine maintenance should I perform on the systems? Routine maintenance and care of the system is the biggest culprit to the happy use of a system. When the Sonic Kleen spills on the sides of the tank and the turning mechanism, care should be taken immediately to thoroughly clean any contact with the system. Otherwise, an occasional oiling of the pulleys on the turning system is always helpful. As needed, the turning belts may require replacement. What else can I clean with my system? With additional accessories (predominately a Soaking Basket) many of Sonic Solutions' customers use the cleaning system to clean various press parts. Several even go to the extent of cleaning their solvent washed polymer process plates. This is a quick way to clean these plates. |
